How does the biodegradable stuff work? Wouldn't the cardboard/newspaper not have decomposed enough for the roots to grow, and would cramp the roots? (Sorryimnewtogardening)

Does the self watering one (with the yarn) work? I want to try it but I'm kind of scared they will dry out, or not germinate at all.

im dissapointed in y'all. not one of y'all remembered the plant-in-a-bottle project y'all had to do in seventh grade? like, you would bring in a plant and a 2 litre bottle and the tecaher would give you rocks and soil, and you would cut off the top part, put the rocks in, then soil, then the plant, then some more dirt, and then spritz it with water, and then you would put the top back on with tape, or you'd get ceran wrap, and the plant would create it's own little atmosphere and the bottle would get foggy and it would "rain" if you put it in the sun and it was very cool and nice and the other kids would call you a nerd of you kept it but you went to tristan's house and he had it in the kitchen window. fake ass bitch.

Just buy small (or large, your choice) terracotta clay pots since those are better for succulents compared to a tiny af wine cork or a pop can with sharp edges

Do not plant succulents or cacti like that!! This makes me so sad. They need proper, non-glass containers that have lots of drainage. Rocks and gravel are NOT DRAINAGE! They create a water shelf which only rots your plants faster. Get pots with real holes in the bottom.

Or you can go to Ikea and buy a $0.39 flower pot but eh that would be boring!

much more simple way to get the top off a soda can, don't use what they did here, it's a terrible risk. Just use a can opener, and if you don't have one use a glove like they did in this video. Don't want any fingers getting chopped off.

Don’t! Plant! Succulents! In! Small! Spaces!!!!
Succulents need special care, proper drainage, little humidity and they need to be re-potted frequently!! Putting a succulent in a wine cork or a can is a death sentence. Use fake plants for those projects, and use proper terracotta pots for your succulents. 💕 They’ll thank you!

I don't like some of the small container ideas. I'd like my plants to have space to grow.
