5-Year-Old Boy Battling Leukemia Proposes to His Favorite Nurse

“Iron” Gideon Robinson is not your average 5-year-old.

In November 2015, Gideon was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Since then, he has been treated at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, CA. While he has had many difficult days, there’s one bright spot to his situation: Tall Sarah.

Tall Sarah is what he calls his favorite nurse (whose name is really Sarah Richards). Sarah and Gideon have bonded throughout his treatment, especially because Sarah often brings him Legos to play with.

Clearly, it’s true love.

So recently, while family and hospital employees looked on with tears in their eyes, little Gideon got down on one knee to propose to Sarah. The ring, made from pipe cleaner and a heart-shaped plastic bead, was presented in a purple cardboard box he cut out himself.

The video, which you can watch above, has quickly gone viral with over 1,400 “likes” and 70,000 views on Facebook as of Tuesday.
