Looks like Instagram heartthrob Cameron Dallas is about to get even more popular. Alongside 17-year-old Stella Lucia, the 21-year-old social media star has been tapped by Calvin Klein Jeans to front a campaign for its limited-edition capsule collection of all-white streetwear-inspired threads. The choice should come as little surprise given Dallas’s 11.6 million Instagram, 6.85 million Twitter, and 9.3 million followers on Vine. Add those numbers to the fact that Dallas caused a scene of Beatles-like proportions at the label’s menswear show in Milan this past January, and you’ve got a recipe for something we all should have seen coming.
Calvin Klein posted a clip from its Dallas campaign this morning, which shows him at the beach wearing a CK tank top and then … not wearing a tank top because who needs a shirt when you’ve got a Calvin Klein deal?
Calvin Klein’s past partnerships with names like Justin Bieber have proven to be a boon to them. Casting the singer in its campaign gained the label about 3.6 million Twitter followers. Granted, Dallas does not have nearly the name recognition Bieber does, but since he’s got such a tremendous reach with the young folks, we don’t see how tapping him could be anything but advantageous. We’ll just have to see how much of an advantage Dallas’ presence will be.
