Chrissy Teigen says Kanye West’s opinions have “always been super strong”, in the wake of his recent controversial Twitter rants.
The 41-year-old rapper has caused a stir on the social media site ever since he returned in April following almost a year away from his account, as he’s been posting several rants on divisive subjects, including voicing his support for US president Donald Trump.
Following one of his set of tweets, the rapper’s close friend John Legend got in touch to urge him not to “endorse” the controversial figurehead, and Kanye responded by claiming the singer was attempting to “manipulate his free thought”.
Now, Chrissy has said Kanye “learned a lot” from his text exchange with John, but said there was no changing the ‘Heartless’ hitmaker’s views.
She said: “The thing with Kanye is that his opinions have always been super strong. He’s never been the guy to push them on you, but he will say what he wants to say. Same with John. That’s why I loved that they were able to have this civil discourse. Kanye learned a lot in the months after that. John did, too.”
And although the ‘Lip Sync Battle’ star has differing views to Kanye, she knows its important to allow everyone to have “their opinion”.
