Couldn't they at least pick an attractive woman? Sick of a certain semitic tribe making these absurd decisions.

Excerpts from Hans Christian Andersen's the little Mermaid "who never imagined that a pretty little mermaid was standing beneath them holding out her WHITE HANDS toward the keel of the ship." "And then became aware that her fish tale was gone and that she had as pretty a pair of WHITE LEGS and tiny feet as any little maiden could dream to have."
Making the little Mermaid black is like making Mulan an African warrior.

LOL! Disney in nothing but liberal trash now. Walt would have fired all of the slime that have destroyed everything he built.

  6. Dark Brilliance July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

Why is anyone suprised at the stupidity of Disney?? They are a "woke" conpany, just stop feeding their pocketbook.

  7. M I A July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

  8. Carole Prentice July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

People are SUCH TROLLS. Jaysus why do we have to justify her being included. OMG white people are soooooooo embarrassing in their prejudice.

  9. Sandra Urban July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

  11. Dan Chick July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

Would black folk b upset if the remake of Shaft starred Val Kilmer as the role of Shaft? Yep. Nuff said.

  12. Redhead Detective July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

Explain to me what the difference is between a white actor painting their face black and a black actor being cast to play a white character? There is no difference. Blackface is blackface. Disney has wrapped it in a bow and served it up on a plate called “diversity” and these people are lapping it up and telling them how delicious it is. YOU’VE BEEN BAMBOOZLED. HOODWINKED. YA GOT GOT!! Just laugh and walk away at this point

  13. Yuga Khan July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

  19. TheAmphicyon July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

  20. Thanos July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

  23. Hallking78 July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

    Cultural appropriation….

  24. HauntedCircuit July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

    Disney is a racist company.

  25. Kenneth E July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

People are mad not because they are racist but because she has always been white . If this was reversed for example making The princess and the Frog main character white in a movie this would be national news about racist white privileged people an I bet they would throw trump in there to somehow.

  26. Rick James July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

She's going to play a black mermaid. But I thought blacks are scared of the water.

  27. beau usa July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

  29. DYR0225 July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

You poor unfortunate soul, get a life! Excited about the diversity!

  30. Rezkel July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

i think it has more to do with the fact that if the role was reversed everyone would be yelling about white washing rather than people actually caring about the race of a fictional character, which to be fair is already a major departure from the original book anyway. Lol wait til all the guys find out she won't spend half the movie in a shell bra.

  31. Mecca Morgan July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

    Racism is alive & well.

  32. Coltimus Prime July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

do black people like hand me downs and sloppy seconds?

  33. Whoozy Dog July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

Most people are mad because this is a blatant cash grab. They only do this not because they care about your community but because they want more MONEY, but y’all don’t care because she black. If we needed more diversity then they should have made an original colored character, one with their own culture as well but noooo that would be too much, let’s make an already famous Disney character that has always been shown as danish in each story told BLACK. I would be less angry if this wasn’t an absolute cash grab. God

  34. Pierre Der July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

im tired of hypocrite hollywood and other groups doing this sort of things just for the facade of showing inclusion when its obvious they are the first to be racist.
why then dont we get a white actor playing t'challa if anybody can play any character. whenever they decide to make an obama movie they better cast a white actor because anybody can play any character, right.
their idea of inclusion would also include that anybody can dress up as blackface and nobody should say anything agaisnt that since anybody can be anybody, right.

  35. VS2015 M. July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

So will they make her hair blonde? Or just don’t say it’ll be based on Ariel; create a new mermaid.

  36. Michael Wilson July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

I not mad. I not going to see this movie. I see what this is. A cheap cash grab for Di$ney.

  37. Colby King July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

Oh So Lets Make Mulan Black, Black Panther White And Thor Asian

  38. mariahtr July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

The best argument is that mermaids can be any colour, and that Ariel was not a Danish woman (She was a mermaid). Saying that there are black Danish people is not exactly valid, especially when we are talking about the 1800s

  39. Steve Kain July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

…but Black Panther, the imaginary super hero must be black.

  40. Ksha GH July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

Bone white creatures/people living in/on or around the ocean…. Ok believe that fairy tale if you want to because people of all races get a tan when they go to the beach. So I can just imaging living there permanently. How white could she be?

  41. Ka Bar Brother July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

I’m more than a little taken aback by all of this, it’s the first I’m seeing of it. I mean, it’s a Disney movie, it’s not a historical documentary. If your only problem with the movie, is that the actress doesn’t fit the character’s description, you’re way too invested. Don’t like it, just don’t watch it, but ruining it for others is just mean spirited.

  42. Arianne D. July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

Idk why people don’t get mad at black people replaying a role of a past character that is white but gets mad when a white person re plays a role that belonged to a black person before. The complete irony. Yeah we get it black people weren’t accepted before and were slaves and everyone is all about “equality” these days and I definitely support it but what’s the point of equality when everyone doesn’t give chances to everyone anymore. Stop ONLY focusing on the black people into giving them main roles in a movie or anything in general whatsoever. How about the Asian people? The Hispanic? Even the redheads? Black and White aren’t the only ones present in this world you know. WAKE UP AMERICA

  43. SoCali July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

Why is E! News removing the dislikes for this video?

  44. Lynda Salazar July 9, 2019 at 1:22 pm

Cast her for avatar! Not Little mermaid! It’s not about race the press want to make it about race to cover their bad casting choice! She can karaoke to the national anthem all she wants! She’s not Ariel!
