At least a little bias, though, is unavoidable. Every human assessment necessarily adds emphasis to some details and takes it away from others.

  2. Andy W January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

Would you share a site to factcheck climate statistics?

  3. Lauren Henschel January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

    This video is seriously under-viewed

  4. SnoopyDoo January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

The earth is flat. I fact checked it on The Onion.

  5. 4xdblack January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

I don't doubt the credibility of the fact checkers. The question is what they choose to fact check.

If they heavily focus on fact checking a particular political figure, and only focus on statements that have a higher chance of being false… that's bias by omission.

What would be the countermeasure against that?

    HELLO THERE

  7. A& W January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

Listen to the Media. Trust the Media. The Media is good. Ignore non mainstream media and orange man. This video is part of a series called 1984 😂

    So, bureaucracy?

Feels like this is a free advertisement.

  10. Spencer Coulter January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

I still wouldn't put much faith in politi-fact, they come to some very inconclusive endings on some of there articles and yet they still keep it the same certain rating. To put any faith in a fact checker isn't good.

Thanks so much for this video. Taught me a lot 🙂

Take a shot every time he mentiones „fact checking“

  14. J Law January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

politifact is not neutral…they are anti conservative, anti republican…they will turn any True conservative statement and find a way to give it a lower ranking…

  15. Doom Paul January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

So how about when various reputable fact checkers get different results?

  16. darkdancerman January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

dude stay out of american politics lmao. you lost the war. chill

  17. J Law January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

  19. richard343s January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

Most fact checkers do a good job but I wouldn't trust Facebook or Twitter to fact check things for me.

  21. Michael Kindt January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

Excuse me second thought, but I can’t seem to find your sources in the description. I could have missed them in the video, but could you please put them in the description.

  22. Jebus F Kennedy January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

I bet the fact checkers in 1980 when the political right had the power were so unbiased😂. Give me a fkin break.

  23. Jebus F Kennedy January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

I know Second Thought was a Bernie bro. You know how the DNC conspired against Bernie Sanders in favor of Hillary Clinton? Do you remember the MASSIVE amount of mainstream news coverage that got? Me neither. Oh wait I remember some outlets saying that there was NO conspiracy against Bernie at all😉 , I wonder what the fact checkers said then, I wonder if the fact checkers said anything about it, at all.

  24. D G January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

    N. 4: Snopes LoL

  25. Jebus F Kennedy January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

Fun fact: Fact checkers are just as bias as you and me, and to think otherwise is naive at best, intellectual lazy at worst. when looking at any news ESPECIALLY political news, look at both sides AND the middle, then come to your own conclusion using your brain. work on identifying your bias and removing it, and work on improving your sense of nuance. Do not promote intellectual laziness by relying on fact checkers. Imagine fact checkers as they are now, using weasel words, lying by omission, using non-sequiturs and other shady rhetorical devices BUT in Trumps favor, and not just a couple of times, but 90% OF THE TIME. You and I would not trust them, and rightly so, but in a climate where right leaning politics are in control, you and I would be looked at the same way the left looks at people who dont trust them.

This video needs to be watched in every corner of the internet

  27. Drab Majesty January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

    politifact is gay

  28. Coronis K. January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

no need to fact check, because I don't know the fake facts, to begin with.

  29. Tano Strelok January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

Sounds like some lazy advertisement tbh, if you see something suspicious you should be checking it yourself.

  30. June's Outside Contact January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

It's not THAT hard to do a freaking source check. Every single person who went to school knows how to check sources and facts. They choose not to. That's the problem. Stupidity has somehow became something people strive for now. Just look at the amount of people who voted for the Orange idiot in 2016. I've never been able to understand anyone who just blindly believes something someone said then they act like you just slapped them in the face because you give them the truth. America is the WORST about fake news and our education system is the cause as well as Fox "News" and their never ending quest to be the absolute shittiest people on earth. There's a reason other countries ban that joke of a program. Quit being the problem and stop forwarding dumb shit you haven't verified because it confirms an "opinion or feeling". Facts don't care about your feelings or opinions. Make America Smart Again!

  31. Mario mario January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

I love how delusional retards are in the comments that they now refuse to even accept fact checking sites like snopes or politifact because it contradicts with their ideology. "Well I googled this conservative website that said this so must be right!"

People just have no clue how to be remotely objective and will concoct a conspiracy when they want. I e the hatred for CNN despite it being mostly reliable

  32. StaticImage January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

    Cow has my vote

  33. Enigma 25 January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

Informative video (as usual) 👍 & could you please do a video on gene editing (not focussing on the controversy but the way it could impact humanity) 😀

  34. Allan Leon January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

So think the best you can do is just try to find sources.
Some time ago i saw Paul Joseph Watson (not exactly the most unbiased person in the planet) talking about how politifact was not trustworthy providing a couple of examples of certain "fact checks" made by then and some of then that were so obviously wrong that i said to myself "There is no way Paul is not bending the truth here", so i checked on the politifact website, and the result was that Mr. Waltson maybe biased, but in this instance not a liar.

  35. G G January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

Fox News viewers don't believe in fact-checking.

  36. Gary Watzittoyaa January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

Someone is vex the public does its own fact checking ; rather going to bias Fact checking sites, the liberal media is trying their best to keep some of yall in cages .

  37. ANDROMEDA January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

Ben Shapiro wants to know your location…

  38. Adr Raz January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

In our last elections, yes they were biased AF. For non-political stuff they can be useful.

  39. Gary Watzittoyaa January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

In short listen to the media , because they are morally superior than you , dont do your own checks , lmao stupid , Politico is 100% Bias , this guy is just a liberal.

  40. Abhijit Pamarty January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

    Snopes is anything but non-biased.

They aggressively push a left-wing narrative. Being socially left myself, I feel that a fact-checking website must stay truly neutral to help the general public have a trusted source to check information for them.

Maybe pre-2016 Snopes was good, but it's definitely bad now.

  41. AvangionQ January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

Discerning truth from fiction is a much more difficult task without the assistance of fact checkers … ✅

  46. Noah Gisolf January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

I did listen to only 1 of your sponsorship pitches and it was this one because you finally decided to give your honest opinion instead of the usual sponsor bullshit

  47. dinitroacetylen January 12, 2019 at 6:54 am

If it was statistically possible for humans to gather enough individuals in one place who are sufficiently intelligent, impartial, and principled to make a truly transparent and unbiased fact checking facility… then humanity would have had no need for fact checking facilities in the first place.
