I live in a very small area and would have to drive at least an hour to go to Costco or Sam's. Is either of them really worth the drive? We are a family of 4 with a single income.

I freeze pretty much EVERYTHING (cooking for 1, haha) but never have I ever thought of freezing milk! I usually end up throwing out like half a carton all the time. Thanx for the tip!!!

I'm always scared about freezing things. I'm just not sure how to figure out how long it is good for after you unfreeze it. Do you happen to know?

  8. Nona Nona May 17, 2018 at 4:01 am

I know that I'm a little late on this video, lo. But speaking of Walmart no longer price matching, they now have a system that is so great!! You download their app, then after shopping at Walmart, scan or type in some numbers off of your receipt. If they find what you bought cheaper, they will now put it on an e gift card! In the last 3 years we have had over 800 YES 800 dollars on our e gift card. We leave the money on it until Christmas and use it to buy ALOT of our Christmas items!! Fantastic way to get the " price match"! Try it, it really is great!! And No, lol I do not work at Walmart!!! Lol

You have no idea how often I throw away almost full containers of sour cream because I only use it in soups and baking type stuff. I'm definitely going to start freezing it!

  19. Cheryl Carrico May 17, 2018 at 4:01 am

Great info!! We use sour cream and cream cheese a lot and I've always wished I could stock up when it's on sale – glad to know I can now 🙂

Great info. So tips and tricks I've never known. I am the worst at picking produce, so the watermelon and pineapple tips were especially helpful.

A way to check eggs as well for badness is place in a bowl of cold water. If they float to top they are bad😘

  31. Memories Embraced by Katy May 17, 2018 at 4:01 am

Did you know you actually don't keep tomatoes in fridge until cut? I learned while I worked at a farm and then found out at a garden show. 💋

  32. widner85 May 17, 2018 at 4:01 am

I know this post is months old.. I was just curious how you were able to PM store brand cheese.. Our Walmart's don't price match anymore either, so I rely on Savings catcher 🙂

  33. Brittni Piercey May 17, 2018 at 4:01 am

Wow chicken is cheap there!!! A pack of chicken like that where i live would be 25 dollars!!!😳

  34. Shannon Helffrich May 17, 2018 at 4:01 am

Jordan, I'm watching all you grocery budget videos and am learning how to meal plan and save. However, how do you deal with your children wanting all the snacking foods which run up your grocery bill? Etc, little Debbie snacks, gummies, and the pricier items that ALL kids love. Do you just not buy them?

  35. Cynthia Ridgeway May 17, 2018 at 4:01 am

    I love your videos

  36. Shirley Singer May 17, 2018 at 4:01 am

    Great job!! Love your energy.XOXO

  37. Kathy D'Accriscio May 17, 2018 at 4:01 am

I'm Canadian and we go over to the states just to buy $200 worth of boneless skinless chicken! (Fill up the freezer) Our sale price is around $4.99 lbs 😲😲😲so at $1.99 plus exchange its such a great deal!!

  38. Shar Frederick May 17, 2018 at 4:01 am

I have to ask….are those your real "eyelashes"?? Beautiful…Love um!! Nice haul.

  39. Danella Jade May 17, 2018 at 4:01 am

holy moly food in the states is cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so blown away. I clicked cause I literally could not work out how to stick to the budget of $100 a person a month. that would give us $300 a month which I'm pretty sure is actually impossible in New Zealand. Although I'm willing to give it a try. Our fruit, Veg and eggs weekly are $50 and thats a small box, we never have left overs from that so it would leave $100 a month for everything else.

I have a kitchen with has hardly any cabinet space, and the table only seats 2 – I need HELP!! I really want a kitchen table and I want to put my appliances/snack items in something you can not see. right now they are on a rack that is wide open for the whole world to see..

  41. Christina Abraham May 17, 2018 at 4:01 am

Won’t you save more if you just shop at Costco for some of these items like butter and cheese?

  42. Sabrina Vincent May 17, 2018 at 4:01 am

Beans go from 0.5 to 2$ a pound depending on the bean and if you buy them dry or canned. They are extremely healthy and have a huge variety. switching out meat for beans in my diet has saved me SO much money and solved my digestive problems. They also store FOREVER, so i stock up on sales and make a pretty display of colored beans in mason jars in my pantry. It has been a life-saver (literally, because you know….reduced risk of heart-disease…this was supposed to be a clever joke)

  43. Kelly Lowe May 17, 2018 at 4:01 am

What food is better to get at Costco than at the grocery store? I know you have talked about what to look for at Costco but I haven’t seen anything on food from Costco. Like is bread a good deal or is the store better?

we have laying hens when we want pancakes or just an omelette our kiddos we have three and one on the way can go gather eggs and we can have fresh when we want!. we eat/use a lot of eggs. we also deer hunt every year and process our own meat and that gives us quite a bit of meat every year this year we also raised a pig and just took it to butcher we will give meat away to our families and have tons leftover. also in the spring we grow some veggies our tomatoes come back every year and we don't touch them they just grow like crazy all around our house. cucumbers, peppers – jalapeño and bell peppers, watermelon, okra and few herbs like basil are things we like and eat all the time and they are easy for me to grow I do not have a green thumb lol. you can also pickle anything okra, cucumbers and jar things that will help them last longer!. just some frugal tips! love your channel!

For freezing meats do you recommend a kitchen vacuum sealer or is ziploc bags just fine?
