Memphis May Fire – Virus (Official Music Video)

Stream/download “Virus” here: https://RiseRecords.lnk.to/virus

I feel it sinking in
It’s underneath my skin
Straight through my blood
It’s in my bones

I taste it on my tongue
This poison fills my lungs
But I won’t let it fill my soul

Cause I know…

When I fight
I remember why I’m still alive
I’m holding on to what is left inside

You’re just a virus
and I didn’t come here to die

You made me question if
I wanted to exist
You were the venom in my veins

But now I see the truth
The enemy was you r
My time will come but not today

Cause I know…

With open eyes
I see the light
My spirit comes alive

I’m holding on
My will is strong
I know I will survive

The end is near
I will not fear
No reasons left to hide

The veil is gone
I’m moving on
I’m taking back my life

Wow….. just wow. This was the first time searching up the band, and I'm already amazed. I saw them at Warped this summer, and thought they were pretty darn good. So today, I checked them out on my own time. This song really has such meaning and fire to me. I can say that I already really like this band <3

  7. oneguyand abunchofweights September 12, 2017 at 12:06 pm

I really dig it to be honest and I'm really happy they are using their lead guitarist also why the fuck are people complaining about it not being heavy mmf have done straight up ballads before it's hardly the softest song they've ever churned out also they're signed to rise so of course there's going to be some commercial appeal

  8. Izaco 15 September 12, 2017 at 12:06 pm

The first line remember me of the Skillet Monster song

  9. Mischief September 12, 2017 at 12:06 pm

So lemme get this straight, no screaming, no breakdown equals bad song? Wow that's stupid. MMF can't do the same style forever.

    better than most shit today

  19. Ryan isRad September 12, 2017 at 12:06 pm

Sorry MMF, but this is so bad. Did they just borrow the layout for the song from some shit band like three days grace or breaking Benjamin and then write the lyrics in 5 minutes while being distracted by what was in tv?? Because it's seriously that bad. Generic af, mainstream af, garbage af.

I want to watch a documentary about the phenomenon of metal bands selling out and going soft for more money. It's really fascinating to me. It's like clockwork. All the great Metalcore of the late 00's have gone extremely soft.

  27. Kamren Zinzow September 12, 2017 at 12:06 pm

  34. Damon Ledford September 12, 2017 at 12:06 pm

Sounds like Skillet. But not bad at all.

  35. Fernando Mendoza September 12, 2017 at 12:06 pm

Its a little more pop than papa roach

  36. Jessica Williams September 12, 2017 at 12:06 pm

What the hell did riserecords do to them?!?

I'm dying over the "papa Memphis " "Memphis roach" Comments, but sadly it's so true. This is some generic boring radio rock music. Like it would be playing at trumps inauguration or something….

Bring Back the challenger sound, the world needs more of that. Quit being "basic" (as the kids say these days)

  37. Swervin Andrew September 12, 2017 at 12:06 pm

Memphis May Fire! Thank you for spreading truth and amazing music!

  38. Shadow97 September 12, 2017 at 12:06 pm

To each their own and I'm not gonna say MMF regressed or anything, it's just that they had something appealing to their content back in the Challenger era (Vices was the first MMF song I ever heard and now is my favorite due to its immense relatability and emotional screaming in the breakdown). However, it's stupid to deny their sound's got much more simple and generic than ever before and I think it's not a good thing.

And the video itself had more of my interest than the song.

  39. James Singleton September 12, 2017 at 12:06 pm

I'm a new Memphis mayfire fan and I used to not like this band but wow

    Sounds like 5FDP a little

  43. Domonick Cook September 12, 2017 at 12:06 pm

ugh if that intro could've went into a double time beat without that weird angry talk singing this would have at least had a good start. huge mmf fan, can't say i'm let down because they're doing what they want but this new directions not for me
