Sagan's critics were wary of pop science. Would the need to entertain come before the need for rigor and accuracy?

And those fears were realized with Tyson. He is constantly giving us bad math, science and history. But he gets away with it because his audience is so clueless. Truly American is sliding down hill when it comes to math and science competence.
