Are entitled kids typically smart or dumb? 🤪

  2. Joe Joseph February 12, 2019 at 4:32 am

I do not tolerate children I do not know coming up to my dogs. First, any parent worthy of child rearing should NEVER let their child approach a strange dog without seeking confirmation from the owner that is is ok. My last dog was reactive with children and I put a yellow ribbon on her leash when we walked. For those who know, the yellow ribbon stands for "caution" and it means, do not approach my dog. But it never fails, I go to the park and see a family coming towards me, and the parents are just not paying attention and I see a mindless child tottering towards my dog with their hands stretched out. Now this is normal behavior for kids, they love doggies. But the parents need to watch for dogs and stop their kids from approaching. I watch for the kids, how hard can it be for the parents to watch for the dogs. When I see families approaching, I make eye contact with the parents and shake my head no, shorten up my leash and pull off to the side of the trail. I would rather be safe and not lose my dog because it bites some stupid kid whose parent should have stopped the kid from coming near a strange dog without making sure it was ok.

Nothing that kid did (that was mentioned here) equates to sexual harassment. It's a little weird yeah, but not to the level of harassment. Especially not talking to someone who isn't the alleged victim about what he'd like to do to her. That's like 75% of the conversations men have. More so for teenagers.

Dumbass EM: OI! Give me your dog NOW! You don't need it anyways.

These entitled parent stories remind me of one story that happened to me (yes, I'm posting this here, and not reddit. I don't care). This happened on Sund
So anyways, about 2 years ago, I bought a new PC for myself to replace my old laptop that is mildly slow when I'm at home. I still use my laptop, just not whan I'm at home. Anyways, one day, my friend comes over to work on a project for school, which involved computers, and for some reason his mother comes with him as well, (maybe to talk with my parents). My friend and I go into my room, and a few minutes later, his mom comes in. She notices my new PC and then proceeds to say:
    (me – me
    friend – FR
    mother – EM
Also, keep in mind this happened some time ago, so I'm paraphrasing)

EM – Oh, *my name*, where's your other computer? Isn't the project on your other computer?

me – No, the project is saved in the cloud, so I can access it from any device.

EM – Oh, so you're saying that you're not using your other computer?

me – No… It's just that my other PC was slow, so my father's name and I bought a new PC. I use my laptop outside of my house.

EM – But don't you already have another laptop (says "laptop" like she's never heard the word before) to work on, besides, it's in the cloud. So why not give your laptop to *friend's name*?

me – Oh, the laptop that you are talking about is almost older than me, and it is incredibly slow. Besides, why would I just give away a laptop for free?

EM – Please, friend's name needs it. He's really interested in electric stuff (she pretty much said it like that), and he needs a personal laptop as he is using mine for schoolwork (no, our school didn't give out laptops to the students. Also, I'm pretty sure she doesn't even use that laptop as the place where she works at has all the necessary things).

me – If friend's name is really interested in electronics, why not buy him a tiny, cheap computer, like a Raspberry PI? they are powerful enough to run operating systems and friend's name can do his work on it, unless he does animation or something like that. Or, you could buy him a Chromebook for around 100$, which is cheap for a working computer that friend's name can do work on.

EM – But we're struggling financially right now! I don't want to buy him a laptop! (Sounds like this belongs to ChoosingBeggars, but wait…)

me – The only thing that I can offer to you for free is the old laptop that you were talking about. That's it. It is powerful enough to do school work on (I use my laptop for game design btw, so the old one isn't fit for me. It's fast enough to run Unity). If you don't want it, then don't take it, but I'm not giving away my laptop for free.

EM – Fine, whatever. If you don't want friend's name to receive good grades (made no sense to me as he can use his mother's laptop that she doesn't use anyway.), then so be it.

Then, she stormed out of the room and left almost immediately, which kind of surprised my parents, as she is very talkative. My friend and I worked on my project, and he even said that his mother was always trying to get free things out of her friends.

Later, when we were done for the day with my project, we called my friend's mom to let her know that she can pick him up. When she arrived, my friend and I were playing on my Xbox in another room. After a while, she called him and they left.

The next day, which was a Monday, my friend comes up to me, and hands me my laptop. At first, I'm confused. But as he mentions his mother it dawns upon me.

FR – Here. My mother took it from you. She said that you 'didn't deserve it', and that you also had a PC that you could do your schoolwork on.

me – Are you kidding me? Anyways, thanks for returning it

FR – No problem, and I apologize.

    me – Yeah, no problem.

When I returned home, I told everything to my parents. They weren't really shocked, as they have heard stories from their other friends about her asking for free things. But, they were quite surprised about the fact that she actually stole my laptop.

Since then, we don't talk to her. I am still good friends with my friend, and we decided to not take this seriously and atempt to press charges.

Side note: the part where we were playing on the Xbox. She actually said that she was going to my room to pack up my friends things. Also, my parents use my laptop when I'm at home, as they know I don't really use it when I'm at home. So, I didn't really think much of it not being in the place where I left it.
