    At Sega head quarters

Employee: Sir! Sonic games have hit an all time low, nobody likes our game anymore!

Executive: Well if they reckon they could do better, than fuck it, let them make the next one.

I hope all game developers/publishers are paying attention to the success and story of this game. Everyone wins in this situation: The devs get to continue doing what they love and get paid for it, the publishers and license owners make money from the sales, and the fans get the games they want.

Bought Mania out of interest in the whole history to it, and it's pretty much my first Sonic game (having played mostly the 3D ones with friends).

Not really a fan… BUT great video, interesting case of fan/dev collaboration working out.

A part of me thought this game would fail miserably, but I'm glad it didn't.

I wish Nintendo would learn from this. Embrace fan games, they are just free advertising; they help keep your properties relevant. Find the people making quality fan games and hire them to make great games for you.

The way Nintendo treats fan games makes me not want to give them my money. Stop it Nintendo. Let me love you again.

Seeing a lot of people baiting Nintendo fanboys and trying start flame wars… Which developer is still a console developer and is worth millions more than the other again?

I feel like this is just a summary of Comic Con's Sonic Mania panel.

Please instruct your guests, as well of yourselves to talk a bit slower. If I can't actually retain the information you wish to share I have a perfectly functional bathroom fan that accomplishes the same job.

You guys plan on covering what's going on with Half Life 3?
I was wondering if the script leak seals the deal that the game is cancelled.

So basically Sega couldn't figure out what the Sonic fans actually wanted so they let a team of fan creators do it for them

  19. TechnicalCakeMix August 28, 2017 at 9:08 pm

Can we just all agree how wonderful the game is?
