Super Bowl Food: Oven-Baked Sliders For The Win

February 4, 2016

Guacamole, pizza and queso dip are great Super Bowl snacks, but by halftime, you’re hungry. Really hungry. And nothing will satiate those stomach growls  except for a meaty burger.

This Tipline video shows you how to make a batch of meaty, oven-baked sliders packed with chopped onions, mustard and seasonings that will satisfy any linebacker-sized cravings.

Watch the video to see step-by-step to see how it’s done. Don’t forget to top them with your favorite type of cheese before serving.

The detailed recipe is below:

1 pound ground beef (85% lean)
½ yellow onion, grated
1 tablespoon spicy mustard
1 large egg
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon celery salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
10 mini hamburger buns

Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. Mix all ingredients in a bowl, except for the beef. Add the beef and gently fold into the spice mixture. Fill a ¼ cup with beef mixture. Pack beef into cup to form patties. Gently tap out  beef with your hands. Place on baking sheet 2 inches apart. With the bottom of the measuring cup, push down and slightly flatten. Place in oven and bake for 25 minutes. Flip halfway thru. Remove from oven, let sit for 5 minutes to cool. Assemble burgers, and top with cheese if desired.
