The Guinness World Record holder for pull-ups and push-ups is an insanely normal dude. More normal than you, more normal than me. Seemingly well-adjusted. A family man and financial planner with a steady income in a lovely New England town. His name is Ron Cooper, and if he is wearing a shirt, you wouldn’t know he is also insanely strong, possibly the strongest man, pound for pound, in the world.
The average male height in the U.S. is 5’10”. Ron Cooper is 5’10”. He weighs a normal 165 pounds. Except when he is attempting a world record. Then, he weighs 225 pounds, shouldering a 60-pound backpack to bang out 57 push-ups in one minute and 18 pull-ups in the same time.
The Pull-Up Guy, as they call him, has other world records. He also has a wife, two daughters, and a pug named Rocky. He’s like Mr. Rogers, if Mr. Rogers really liked to do pull-ups.
This guy is going to outlive us all.
