This Artist Has Trash Found Along Mexico's Coast As His Beautiful Centerpiece In Photos

The beauty comes in the actual aesthetics of the photos he takes, especially the juxtaposing color schemes.

The unsettling part is the medium used—waste off the coast of Mexico, as it interacts with the world it was littered in.

Specifically, he takes trash from a UNESCO reserve called Sian Ka’an, a beautiful place that unfortunately accumulates trash being swept over across several channels.

The photos are extremely provocative.

As are Duran's own words on the project.

"The resulting photo series depicts a new form of colonization by consumerism, where even undeveloped land is not safe from the far-reaching impact of our disposable culture," said Duran.

While the photos may be beautiful, they carry a message that very clearly indicates the dangers of our heavily consuming lifestyles.
