Since 2012, Mark Bustos, a hairstylist, has been giving back to the community in the best way that he knows how…
Free haircuts for the less fortunate.
Mark began his charitable acts about 2 years ago while visiting family in the Philippines.
He found a local barber shop, rented a chair for the day, and gave out free haircuts to kids in the community.
Since then, Mark has done his good deeds in Jamaica, Costa Rica, Los Angeles, and New York, where he currently lives.
He now devotes every Sunday (his day off from working at a high-end salon in NYC) to cutting hair for the city’s homeless residents.
Not only does he provide them with a haircut, but he also offers them a meal and engages in meaningful conversation.
He prefers to cut hair in public, but it has nothing to do with thinking that he is superior for giving back to the community…
…It’s to inspire others to offer help to those in need and motivate them to spread kindness far and wide.
Bustos says, "Every human life is worth the same. We all deserve a second chance."
