His op-ed literally sounds like a homework project done by that student we all had in class who didn't read the book but still wrote a scrambled couple of paragraphs based on the books cover picture. And now he wants to participate in a class discussion/debate on the subject but still has absolutely no idea what the full substance of the assignments context was really about. What a dunce!

Medicare for all is BAD idea…. most seniors are struggling now anyway!

  3. Meg Paul October 21, 2018 at 9:32 pm

Yeah… but I wonder who REALLY wrote this mess.

Nothing this administration does makes sense. I love that Bernie got on that ass.

We have a psychopath for President. 😤😤😤

Trump can only write 1 or 2 paragraphs on Twitter a day before he looses it.

I believe in socialized medicine and always have. But I also always thought Medicare was free. I am now turning 65 and found out that it is not. Medicare A where you get catastrophic care at a hospital is free. Medicare B where you get doctor visits costs $134 a month. They bill you for three months at a time beforehand, $402 a shot. If you do not sign up for Medicare B and then decide later that you want it, it costs more because they fine you, not once, but forever. OUR SYSTEM SUCKS!!!!! I hate this freakin' country.

listen carefully to these figures. medicare for all saves billions, thousands a year in savings per family.

We have the 3 branches of government AND the news media or press, the 4th estate. Publishing Trump's lies and distortions is a failure of the press to check the power of the president. We know what Trumps is. Shame on you, USA Today!!!

This is what Trump supporters wanted, to get rid of socialism. This happens and they'll know exactly what that means.

So your biggest advertiser is crtv and wow are they dysfunctional. I mute them and let them play out so it will cost them max fees. But I've seen 15 seconds of the content. Geez they are wasting their money on this target market. No one watching THR would ever watch that horse shit.

Its not the fact that he thinks that people with pre existing conditions shouldnt have health insurance its that he doesnt think that companies should be forced to sell them health insurance no matter what condition they are in. I agree with him in that regard because all that does is limit competition in a free economy

"…the end of Medicare as we know it."

    Medicare as we know it:
Only some Americans have access to it
    Has a deductible
Still requires a co-pay in many instances
Not all healthcare providers accept it for payment

Yeah, I guess Republicans are right. But why is ending Medicare as we know it a bad thing again? That's like saying switching from punch cards to magnetic tape will end data storage as we know it.

Healthcare is very unaffordable under private insurers.
Only Medicare can afford good healthcare for seniors since it is government funded and not profit oriented.
Time to change course and give Medicare to all Americans.
The seniors can still enjoy theirs.

This has gotta be a meme.
Kid: Dad, why are getting rid of the truck?
Trump Dad: DIDN'T YOU HEAR THE PRESIDENT? HAVING IT WOULD ATTRACT ILLEGALS!! SO THROW EVERYTHING OUT! TAKE THAT ILLEGALS OH THATS RIGHT YOU CAN'T CAUSE I THREW IT ALL AWAY!!! 4D CHESS MAGA!

  17. vortexgen1 October 21, 2018 at 9:32 pm

The only thing the republicans can do is lie and nothing more.

My mom passed away in a hospital in Quebec , Canada with no cost to the family, but in America if your mom dies in a hospital you will have a huge bill

I don't "love" Medicare the way it presently is. I have Medicare and a supplementary policy but still had to go into debt to pay for my healthcare. Bernie's plan is the only fair alternative.

  21. Bryan Schrock October 21, 2018 at 9:32 pm

The proper argument I think should be, if you are not for a national healthcare system, how are you actually pro life? you are only pro birth, you do not seem to care about actual life after it is born. same with the being for forever wars.

Trump promised to "drain the swamp" – the poor among his voters just didn't realise that THEY are the "swamp". Here in UK the xenophobes are using same fear of immigrants to justify scrapping our human rights and social security.

My daughter's health insurance went from 134 to 415 ..that's fucking crazy..

  24. Sweederland Johnson October 21, 2018 at 9:32 pm

Honestly the only real solution is to start capturing and torturing rich people who allow capital to rot in the banks rather than pay the people, the American citizenry WHO MAKE THEIR WEALTH POSSIBLE. Being rich should be considered a mental disease and they should be institutionalized. Reporters should not be allowed to make more than 100% of minimum wage.

  25. Frederic Bastiat October 21, 2018 at 9:32 pm

1965 we made Medicare for the old and disabled, Medicaid for the poor, and that is exactly when our spending exploded higher!! Stupid leftist trash, scroll on link, observe the graph….
