FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought all those newer LPs all this time, and Funeral of God and like three songs on Fear is what keeps us Here was it….only things they did well. Now this? It's even better than the original stuff imho…..by leaps and bounds. A new AND old line-up….hell yeah. Liberate Ex Inferis but an almost unrecognizable reboot-type thing.
The only critique is they tried being more tech on the time they play their drums (which means guitar too) and riffs get repetitive in a NOT good way. You just wait to see if their is a classic only-ZAO-can-do-demonic breakdown right at the end like they do. If not, then yeah not into it. I like them for the first song on this album….That was Liberate Ex-Inferis to me eighteen or whatever years ago when I bought it…I had a cousin raving about it, then…love at first sight. Too bad the copycats like Norma Jean/Chariot/Underoath who do darker hardcore/metal all went commercial or TRIED to make what they did SEEM commercial to the boss. Victory Records, for example…Could be a cruel mistress i heard all the freaking time.

Trying to keep up with all the newer bands releases and totally missed this figuring Zao was done. Good shit brings back college memories.

  15. Antihero Resuscitator September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm

And further. I don't believe this band is a Christian band anymore. I think once Jesse left they kinda let go of that ideal. They're Zao. They're tight as a nuns daughter and they can still kick it with the best

  16. Antihero Resuscitator September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm

Also, so few people give The Fear Is What Keeps Us Here it's proper dues. That album is a fucking beast. Gretz on drums and Albini production was just superb. It separated this band from so many shitty knockoffs for being bold. If you have any decent audio equipment to listen to music on TFIWKUH is just incredible.

  17. William Nostrum September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm

    Fuck this christian turd bullshit.

HOW DID I JUST FIND THIS???????? You know the feeling when u look up Zao for some old tracks you like, and you find a whole new album. Oh man.

  21. James Deal September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm

Alright I'm hyped. When's the tour. Been a fan since 96. Only saw them once in like 03 or something. Need an Orlando show.

  22. travis duran September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm

I've been a fan now I believe since 2004 good to see them still kicking

  23. LSMLasVegas September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm

been listing to zao since 96. good stuff!

  24. Greg Jostes September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm

nothing beats funeral of God, but a very solid comeback after all those years on hiatus

  25. Martin Aguilar September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm

What an awesome album! Zao will always be one of the best metal bands to exist. Fuck all the haters.

  26. Number Space September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm

Daniel will be 80 years old and still growling like a fucking beast

  27. Cody Helton September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm

    yes! zaos back

  28. Bakutakamine September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm

Zao is amazingly underrated. This was the band that made Christian metalcore a thing, ether that's good or bad you decide but Zao themselves are awesome.

  29. Will Whitman September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm

zao is an interesting anomaly: started off being not Christian enough to be accepted in the Christian music scene and too Christian to be accepted totally in the regular scene. it's a shame

  30. gainer2420 September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm

    gotta buy this shit. ugh

  31. gainer2420 September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm

    wow

  32. Tony Anderson September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm

More variety to this album then the last one Awake? Glad to see them come back with a new album after such a long wait.

  33. Lionel Fan September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm

First Zao song I ever heard was "5 Year Winter", from then on out I was hooked. I'll be buying this album, thanks for the upload.

  34. Jersh84 September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm

I can't even articulate the place that this album puts me in. Very well done. Thank you, ZAO!

  35. Ben Middleton September 13, 2017 at 4:35 pm
