What I fucking love is those beta translations of Phantasy Star 4 on Hidden Palace.

Engrish PS4 is the most hilarious thing ever.

You need to try Metal Sonic Rebooted, the most amazing hack I’ve ever seen, and a Genesis favorite. It’s an entirely different game from Sonic 2, just incredible.

    No Ultimate Mortal Kombat Trilogy?

  4. DED DOA September 14, 2019 at 10:06 pm

I always prefered the more gritty megadrive samples for SF2 as it sounded more gritty like they would mid fight. When I got it on mame years later it just sounded weak, still does to this day even in SF4 and 5

I recommend the Star Cruiser translation patch.

Great video, love the commentary. Especially when you call out the haters from back in the day, and point out how wrong a lot of the yapping was. Also, great stuff on your Ryu, those dps are just flying out there – I am guessing you're using the 8bitdo M30 on your MegaSg?? πŸ™‚
Going to throw out there the many, many great hacks of both Adventures of Batman & Robin ("Batvantage") and Rock 'n Roll Racing that have breathed new life into those two favorites of mine. As well as some of the Dragon's Fury hacks for color and such. Great stuff, love my Mega Sg!

My life would be complete if someone made the duck in Ghouls n Ghosts quack when you hit fire…

Super Street Fighter 2 should have the music remixed to sound better

Sorry but I know your in the states but here in the UK and Japan its 'Sega MegaDrive'. It was supposed to be MegaDrive in the states too but got renamed to Genesis. What I am trying to say is that its proper name is Sega MegaDrive. Doesn't sound right when you keep referring to my fav console of all time as a Genesis which I personally think is a lame name. My fav hack is SOR2 Simpsons and SOR2 ED209.

I didn't know they had hacks for the Genesis in the 90's. Too busy playing Playstation and all their rpgs.

Great video. It's a shame you didn't put the rom hack names in the episode notes.

  14. LightBlue2222 September 14, 2019 at 10:06 pm

    Genesis did does and will.

Streets Of Rage 3 was definately overly difficult for a normal setting. I believe you needed to beat it on normal to see the whole game as well. I went through the japanese version and some hacks first to get a feel for the game then beat the US version. The japanese version was a little too easy. Somewhere in the middle wouldve felt better. Though with the difficulty settings it wouldve been good enough I think.

Still waiting for the Shinobi Arcade port on the Genesis tho…

  17. Ivan Santana September 14, 2019 at 10:06 pm

That red Guy is better than the Sega-CD version.

  19. Sho September 14, 2019 at 10:06 pm

Great video! I’ve actually been playing and recording a good deal of SOR2 hacks on my channel over the last few months! Some of them are very well made! I recommend you try the Bruce Lee and Arnold Schwarzenegger International heroes hack as well! It’s pretty insane.

One hack you didn't mention happens to be the BEST hack on the Genesis. Period. That's Sonic Megamix.

  27. Overbound Game Studio September 14, 2019 at 10:06 pm

Sega Lord X Productions? Is that an LLC? Do you ever write off your game purchases, tv, or equipment as a business expense? If I had a gaming channel I would totally do that lmao.

Showing How Much Fin' Lazy Were The Devs Back In The Day Releasing Half Baked Titles. The Genesis MK2 Had Way More Fluid Animations Than SNES Counterpart Which Was Super Polished Though. P:

  35. MarshCreature September 14, 2019 at 10:06 pm

Dam dude look at those colors on castlevania. This video just opened a whole new world for me to upgrade colors and enjoy those games i had to struggle with because i didnt know a lick of Japanese. I got half way through langriser just by guessing lol now at least i can play it properly.

  36. wenchwogg September 14, 2019 at 10:06 pm

You've been killing it with videos lately. Great content, keep it up!

  37. Zach Reddy September 14, 2019 at 10:06 pm

It's also worth checking out the Unworked Designs patches for games like Popful Mail and Lunar on the Sega CD, which restore the Japanese difficulty levels (they do leave WD's idiosyncratic English translations intact). Fantastic video as per usual!
