This time on Did You Know Movies we’re looking at how The Black Panther took over 20 years to make. Before the modern Marvel Black Panther, Wesley Snipes tried to produce a movie on the comic book character in the 90s. We also look at some interesting stories relating to the Black Panther cast, including Chadwick Boseman and Michael B Jordan, and how the movie was affected by other Marvel movies such as Avengers Infinity War, as well as some inspirations behind characters and places such as Killmonger and Wakana.

It's pronounced Ebo, but you're good.

I never understood why the final fight scene looked so bad. The rest of the movie looks incredible but they really dropped the ball at the end.

    Re: 8:35

Kilmonger's comic counterpart also has a pet leopard called Preyy.

I love Chadwick Boseman but Wesley Snipes as T'challa would've been godlike

Did you know that if you didn’t like black panther, you’re automatically a racist

I am still hoping that we see Blade somewhere in the MCU, or maybe Deadpool 3. That would be funny.

I think at this stage literally everyone knows that there was planned to be a black panther movie in the 90s

  13. sean gleason September 16, 2018 at 8:06 am

It's total Darwinian garbage to call a Black less Evolved. None of us are animals.

I'm sure some Europeans are surprised to find out that White Americans have European voices 😜.

    Wakanda Forever

  17. Robert Siegfried September 16, 2018 at 8:06 am

Wakanda is fantasy. It's as real as middle earth. Black people being proud of Wakanda is like a white person calling themselves an elf.

2:20 "Based on another black Marvel Comics character." But it fell far short of his vision of showing ALL of Africans in a positive light and merely fell into the 90s trend of downtrodden/tragic black hero characters.

  19. TaliesinMyrddin September 16, 2018 at 8:06 am

Nonsense. The 90s couldn't have produced the visuals in Black Panther.

Skin color or gender does not automatically make a good fit for the job

  21. That Other Guy September 16, 2018 at 8:06 am

Huh so that release date change is why the cgi looks so weird.

  22. Icepikoftime September 16, 2018 at 8:06 am

Better than the title you put on this video earlier.

  23. Aaron Kitzmann September 16, 2018 at 8:06 am

Let's keep in mind that neither that one from the 60's nor the current Black Panther political party was for Equal rights. they were more like the Balck version of the KKK. Thank god MLK became the face of the civil rights movement and those assholes never took control of it for themselves.

  24. Mr. Eponymous September 16, 2018 at 8:06 am

Holy cow I live on St Simons and I've heard that story before. What a cool reference

  25. Thatotherguy15 September 16, 2018 at 8:06 am

One fact you guys forgot was that in the early stages of black panther they wanted Kraven the hunter from the spider man comics to be the main villain but they had to replace him with killmongore because Sony had the rights to everything spider man and his villain (shout out goes to blameitongorge for his video about the production and early concept, draft, and scripts about the MCU)
