Cracksman is from the first crop of foals sired by Frankel

On 19 October 2016, Cracksman won his first race on his racecourse debut in a 10 runner at Newmarket maiden race over a mile at 9/2

Cracksman began his second season in the Investec Derby Trial over ten furlongs at Epsom in which he was ridden for the first time by Frankie Dettori, winning by a short head from Permian

Having being beat in the Derby and then in the Irish Derby, Cracksman tried his luck in the Voltigeur Stakes traditionally regarded as a trial race for the St Ledger and won by 6 lengths.

This would then start off a flurry of group 1 wins, along with a trip to Chantilly in the Qatar Prix Niel.

Cracksman travelled back to Ascot to race in the Qipco Champion Stakes, and winning impressively by 7 lengths to Poet’s World.

On 16 November 2017 at the Cartier Racing Awards, Cracksman was named Champion Three-year-old colt.

Cracksman travelled back to France to kick off his 4 year old season and picked up where he left off with a win in the Prix de l’Inauguration at Longchamp.

On June 1st, Cracksman went off at 2/7 on in the Investec Coronation Cup at Epsom beating 33/1 Salouen by a head.

19 Days later, Cracksman travelled to Ascot for the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes, coming second to Poet’s World.

Trainer, John Gosden suggested that Cracksman wasn’t at full attention to the task ahead due to the colt being distracted by a number of fillies returning to the paddock from a previous race.

Cracksman returned after a 122 day break to win in the Qipco Champion Stakes for a second year running in impressive style, winning by 6 lengths.

Cracksman has since been retired to stud, standing at Dalham Hall Stud.
