When they brought out Erlinger at the award show and he expressed his gratitude to Mr. Rogers, THAT was when it did me in. After all those years, reaching all those kids, no matter what color, shape or what, having one of them come back and say to you "It's you I like." must have been among the very highest points of all of Fred Rogers' entire life.

You can tell too. He's normally so in control and thoughtful in his actions. But as soon as that little kid in the fancy chair wheeled out as a full grown man, he lept from his seat with excitement. God love you, Mr. Rogers.

I'm always so scared someone is going to hurt him. Maybe that's why I'm not sensitive out loud because people hurt people, and it really is a shame that people do that. Mr. Rogers was a great man.

Damn I wonder were he’s at right now…Is he in the so called “heaven” looking down at us? or in total darkness of thoughts and memories…. or just in black unconscious. Or maybe reincarnated in another planet out in this infinite universe of universes. ? Were tf did he go ?!

My friends lived in a condo in Delaware just south of PA in the early 80's. We were young, hung over, dead heads in tie dyed t-shirts that smelled like beer and cigarettes and stuff… We knew that Mr. Rogers also lived in the condo. We were going out early one morning to buy some smokes, and then Mr. Rogers got on the elevator and said, "Hi kids. It's a nice day, isn't it?"
We looked at each other through our blood shot eyes and all we could say is "Yes, Mr.Rogers!" "Have a nice day." He said.
WE WERE BLOWN AWAY! HE NEVER JUDGED US AT ALL! He was really, really that cool!

The reason why there's so much hate in this world is because Fred Rogers used all the love.

This saint of a man, his Presence long after his body return to dust, has been a rock of stability, comfort, and simple goodness in my life. Thank you Mr. Rogers.

10 minutes is not enough to show all the good that Mr. Fred Rogers did

  23. Joy Washington November 29, 2017 at 7:54 pm

I love you so much Mr. Rogers! I'm sitting here crying a bucket full of happy tears, knowing it's me you like and that you are my friend. Some of the best memories I have include Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and watching the Lawrence Welk show (soothing) as a child. I, like many others, feel so connected to him. Thank God for putting him here on Earth. We will never forget you and will love you always!

  31. Mike Guinan November 29, 2017 at 7:54 pm

    I can't say I didn't cry

  32. StaticImage November 29, 2017 at 7:54 pm

I really can not come up with any single person that most represents what it truly means to be an outstanding human being. His kindness and his caring came so naturally to him, and he was able to share that with the rest of us, all while we struggled immensely to find the smallest bit of compassion. That does not make us bad people. It just makes Mr. Rogers a shining beacon of what kindness and love can do for the world.

  33. Whatsup Buttercup November 29, 2017 at 7:54 pm

Today the shows are so flashy. He just comes and calmly speaks. His voice and manor on this show is the same on his television show. He had this way of quietly keeping us interested. Quietly getting our attention. Kids need someone like this so badly. These kids need a mr Rodgers to tell them they are liked for who they are and that all across the world we are neighbors.

  34. 究極コントラ November 29, 2017 at 7:54 pm

How am I just now finding out who Mr. Rodgers is? I may not have grown up with him, nor be able to feel what the children that grew up with him feel, nor seen much content from him, but I can see that he was probably one of the kindest human beings ever to walk the face of the Earth. I wish more people were like him; people who care. Not just about the children, but humanity itself. RIP Sir

  35. vjm3 November 29, 2017 at 7:54 pm

I like how after the last clip Best of Humans leaves a few seconds of silence, so that we too can think about his words in a similar spirit as Fred Rogers stated.

  36. Ryan D November 29, 2017 at 7:54 pm

listening to him talk about a child with down syndrome choked me up… not going to lie

  37. fanny3211 November 29, 2017 at 7:54 pm

    "Best of"?
No need for such a title. Every moment of his life, he graced the Earth like a miracle worker and died knowing he did his job to several generations of children.

  38. Kenzie Backlin November 29, 2017 at 7:54 pm

    Rip Fred Rogers

  39. TheModernFate November 29, 2017 at 7:54 pm

Every sentence he speaks is beautiful. I could cry.

  40. PowerGlove79 November 29, 2017 at 7:54 pm

Such a wonderful, beautiful man. I know parents say "don't imitate what you see on tv" or "Don't try this at home" but Mr. Rogers was the exception. I think if we tried to be just even a bit more like Mr. Rogers. we'd be able to understand and love each other better. If there is a heaven. I can't imagine it existing without Fred Rogers. He was a true light on this earth and we were lucky to share it with him for even a brief period of time.

  41. Megawatt Apps November 29, 2017 at 7:54 pm

Mr Rogers always looks like he was in top shape. It's a shame the surgery procedure he went through did not go well, and the surgery was the main cause of his death.

  42. Ritabug34 November 29, 2017 at 7:54 pm

I like what mr. Rogers says at the beginning of this that our society is more interested in noise and silence. In news than Wonder and I completely agree. It's in the quiet moments that we notice the beauty of nature the beauty of things around us The Wonder of our families.

  43. PU2SFX November 29, 2017 at 7:54 pm

My heroes when I was a kid: Fred Rogers, Bob Ross and Ayrton Senna. Where are men like these nowadays? Am I being good enough to my neighbors and brothers?
    Thank you, Mr. Rogers.

  44. Alpha6499 November 29, 2017 at 7:54 pm

The kindest human being on earth. Not only did he taught children to laugh and have fun, but also how to cope with anger, pain, and fear. Every word he spoke to the camera was not scripted, but came from his heart of gold. He truly meant it when he called you 'neighbor'. He was everyone's friend and never looked down upon anyone.

  45. Khadijah Kemp November 29, 2017 at 7:54 pm

  46. Douglas Dulac November 29, 2017 at 7:54 pm

I think the ones in congress that are taking away public t.v. Should see this video, and put Mr. Rogers back on the air.
